The Orchestra program is one of the newest fine arts programs in the district.  It was started by a music teacher, Mrs. Wendy Anuwe, at Bray Elementary and has grown to include the entire district. 

Our repertoire includes many selections from the classical side as well as current music and Movie and Broadway selections.  CHISD offers a comprehensive program that includes TMEA Region Orchestra, UIL Solos and Ensemble contest, and UIL large ensemble contest in grades 7-12.

Orchestra is the study of many musical genres, including classical music, ballet, opera, broadway, movie themes and wealth of other music styles.  Students are exposed to Beethoven’s Ode to Joy within a month of beginning strings!
